Job Description
- Works with customers and Data Center Solutions architects in planning and designing highly successful Data Center environments
- Works with customers to align technology to their business opportunities and needs in context of their Data Center strategy
- Demonstrates command of the Data Center technologies and other ecosystem solutions
- Stays up to date with Data Center technologies (compute, storage, Data Center switching, security and Virtualization)
- Utilizes knowledge of architectural design and documentation
- Perform initial configuration of servers and network devices and validate prior to deployment
- Validate successful installations
- Support hardware firmware updates
- Server or network equipment component repair and replacement
- Customer facing / presentation skills
- Documentation skills – ability to deliver high-level design documentation
- Excellent verbal / written communication skills
- Ability to work extended hours as needed for critical functions
- Ability to document business, information, application and technology aspects of approach
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science (or related area).
- Minimum of 3-5 years of documented corporate IT experience in Datacenter solutions is required
- Candidate must also have excellent communication, interpersonal, troubleshooting and customer service skills
- Additionally, the candidate must thrive in a fast-paced environment and balance multiple projects at once
- Solid Experience in VMware product suite (ESXi, vCenter, VDI, and vRealize) include deployments, administration and troubleshoot)
- Solid Experience in major Storage platforms (EMC, NetApp, Pure) including deployments, administration and troubleshoot.
- Solid Experience in major Compute platforms (Dell, HP, Cisco UCS) including deployments, administration and troubleshoot.
- Solid Experience in major Security Vendors (Fortinet, Palo Alto, F5) including deployments, administration and troubleshoot.
- Current CCNP or VCAP (Deploy) certification
- Strong skills in Data Center networking with extensive experience around either Nexus, ACI, NSX or other major DC Networking platforms.
- Desired/Preferred Qualifications
- VMware NSX experience is a plus
- Cisco ACI experience is a plus
- Powershell scripting experience a plus
