Linux Administrator Job Description
Linux administrator will install, configure, and maintain Linux operating systems in a variety of organizations. This role involves server-side operations and troubleshooting tasks that support business-critical and development activities. Linux administrators also configure user access and monitor system stability and security through deployment and everyday use
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Install and Configure Linux Systems
- Set up the architecture of the system, including back-end databases and scripts for Specific applications and use cases.
- Perform system monitoring analysis, performance tuning, troubleshooting issues.
- Maintain backup and redundancy strategies
- Guarantee security of servers and applications
- Maintain best practices on managing systems and services across all environments
- Fault finding, analysis and of logging information for reporting of performance exceptions
- Proactively monitoring system performance and capacity planning
- Manage, coordinate, and implement software upgrades, patches, hot fixes on servers, And workstations
- Create and modify scripts or applications to perform tasks
- Provide input on ways to improve the stability, security, efficiency, and scalability of the environment
- Handle day to day operations
Job Requirements
- Configuration Management Tools ( Ansible, Puppet)
- Network tools (tcpdump, iptables, HAP, Linux IPVS)
- Linux scripting languages (Shell, Perl, Python)
- Experience with or knowledge of (Redhat Satellite , OpenShift , JBoss) are a plus
- Certifications is a must.
- Minimum 2 years of experiences.
