Job Description

Job Overview

Are responsible for effective curriculum delivery, the achievement of departmental goals, learning outcomes and the meeting of targets and benchmarks. Have a key role in the development of a positive work environment – one that is innovative and responsive to student needs. This responsibility also includes assessing and implementing educational technology in the classroom

Job Responsibilities

  • Developing a creative learning community across the school
  • To have knowledge, understanding and enthusiasm for creative teaching and learning as a key to raising achievement, aspiration and motivation
  • To build a community of creative learning practice across the school, involving all departments as appropriate
  • To develop, through dialogue with the wider school community, an inquiry based approach which addresses a range of issues relevant to the broader developmental needs of the school and its learners and is linked to the school improvement plan
  • To facilitate the long-term development of creative teaching and learning at a structural and systemic level
  • To act as a facilitator in school, able to translate the school’s vision for creative learning into practical implementation
  • To ensure that children and young people play a meaningful and active role in learning that can truly reflect their interests, needs and enthusiasms
  • To coordinate meetings and activities with teachers and school staff
  • To ensure all programme activity is carried out with due regard to health and safety and the safeguarding of children
  • To ensure that all monitoring and evaluation requirements are fulfilled
  • Assisting with identifying and recruiting potential teachers.
  • Coordinating field experience information and submitting information to the field experiences staff.
  • Coordinating in-school admissions assessments.
  • Coordinating the arrival of Teachers and orientating them to the school environment, staff and students
  • Communicating on a weekly basis with the Head of Stage and School Principal
  • Facilitating the inter-classroom observations.
  • Facilitating Mentor Teacher meetings.
  • Documents the ongoing activities and programs in the school. Prepares and presents reports to the School Principal or Head of Stage during staff and board meetings.
  • To evaluate all the short term and long term programs of an educational program.
  • To communicate with the participants of the programs to find out whether it has been effective and if not, then the measures that need to be taken to improve the programs in the future.
  • Reviews & supports lesson planning, ensuring team members have all materials necessary to provide quality instruction.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Proficient English communicator both oral and written
  • Good team player
  • Excellent management skills
  • Self-motivated, flexible and adaptable
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Previous experience in same post is a must
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Problem-solving skills
