Job Description
General Duties & Responsibilities:
- Abides by company by-laws including policies and procedures and grants preliminary approval to the submitted changes of the above and forwards it to the General Manager for further approval.
- Abides by the authorities granted to the position as per the delegation of authority structure and any formal changes thereto.
- Reviews the work of subordinate managers to ensure compliance with PGE established policies and procedures.
- Evaluates the performance of subordinate managers, and interviews applicants.
- Delegates particular day-to-day responsibilities to the Corporate Finance and Capital Markets Departmental Heads.
Operational Duties & Responsibilities:
- Overviews the marketing and prospecting activities including contacting prospective customers to present information on available financial services and products.
- Take the responsibility to ensure that Investment Banking function meets its market share target and reach its targeted position among other competitors.
- Assist in Identifying and bringing new business opportunities and generate additional income.
- Ensure appropriate marketing of PGE’s Investment banking services and penetration into new markets.
- Responsible for the execution of the marketing activities for the Investment Banking function.
- Ensures customers retention and development through monitoring of customers satisfaction.
- Participates and take an active role in Investment and Executive Committees meetings.
- Undertakes corporate financial restructuring assignments.
- Advises in the development of strategic plans and business plans.
- Provides Financial advisory services.
- Approves private placement memorandums and information memorandums.
- Carries out placements such as Private Placements, Initial Public Offerings (IPOs), Fund Raising and as well Marketing for third parties.
- Approves the developed operating budgets for the department and monitors the budget through regular budget variance reports.
- Approves the organization and administration to the training needs of the department.
- Leads and directs presentations on financial services to groups to attract new customers for PGE.
- Promotes goodwill through such publicity efforts as speeches, exhibits, and question/answer sessions.
- Represents PGE during community projects and at public, social, and business gatherings.
- Overviews and approves the development of prospects from current customers, referral leads, and other sources.
- Reviews business trends (in conjunction with the investment and trading department personnel) and advises management regarding expected fluctuations, and how it might affect clients’ investments.
- Supervises the day-to-day work of the Investment Banking Function Managers and Divisions Heads.
Job Requirements
- Professional Qualification in Finance / Banking or equivalent.
- Minimum of 12-15 years of related experience and/or exposure and training in similar function and industry.
- Strong leadership skills.
- Good strategic planning skills.
- Innovative and visionary.
- Assertive and diligent in exercising authority and supervision.
- Computer literacy and knowledge.
- Communication skills and ability to work with and lead company teams.
