Job Description
As a Fullstack Software Developer at NextUp, you will be responsible for realizing and maintaining a web based logistics planning tool in collaboration with a team of developers, analysts, and designers.
You will focus specifically on building Python/Django based web applications and React fort he Frontend. Our list of wishes and ideas is huge but a few concrete examples of projects you will work on include:
- A logistics collaboration platform extension tool for our customers which are trucking and logistics companies
- Improve NextUp data model
- Improving our tariff and invoicing engine
- Improve the frontend, and build new features requested by our customers
The main technologies tools you will be working with are: Python, Django, React, Typescript, PostgreSQL. For development and communication we use Jira, Github and Jenkins.
You will be part of a relatively small group of enthusiastic and forward-looking young professionals who work to realize our ambitious objectives on a daily basis. NextUp is based in the Netherlands. Our development team is based in The Netherlands. Currently communication goes through Slack, but in 2020 NextUp is planning to setup an office in Cairo.

Job Requirements
- By preference university education in a relevant field (computer science/information technology) or demonstrable work experience at this level
- +3 years of experience in software development with Python, Django, React, Typescript, PostgreSQL or comparable frameworks
- Experience with databases and query languages
- Experience with integrating different systems using (REST) APIs
- You can design scalable applications and are familiar with caching and load-balancing
- Thorough Linux command line skills
- Familiar with Version Control Systems, deployment systems, and test frameworks (Git, etc.)
