Job Description

The Senior Accountant responsibilities include, but are not limited to, general ledger accountability, and financial reporting, as well as financial profitability analysis and other special projects as assigned.

  • Handle accounts payable & vendor’s inquiries.
  • Review payments by verifying documentation, and approvals.
  • Reviewing construction extracts ensuring alignment with contracts and report violations for corrective action.
  • Review ledger and booking entries according to stated procedures so that all transactions are recorded in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Responsible for general ledger.
  • Fixed asset processing and reporting.
  • Research and reconcile all discrepancies.
  • Following internal controls.
  • Prepare monthly financial statements, reports and records by collecting, analyzing and summarizing account information.
  • Review bank statements.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

  • Strong Computer Skills and computerized accounting software.
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics GP accounting software is preferred.
  • Familiarity with the construction process is a must.
  • Knowledge in related governmental laws and legislation.
  • Willing to work at site conditions.
  • Ability to meet communicated schedules and deadlines.
  • Adherence to policies, procedures and instructions of Manager of Financial Reporting.
  • Ability to maintain good working relationships with vendors and staff.
  • Ability to function as a team player.
  • Excellent knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles, and revise standards and practices.
  • Excellent knowledge of cost and budgeting principles.
  • Demonstrated high degree of analytical ability.
  • Ability to independently plan, organizes, and coordinates work to meet deadlines and accommodate changing priorities.
  • Ability to design, analyzes, and prepares financial reports.
  • Ability to effectively communicate both in oral and written form.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of information and support business interests through the exercise of sound judgment and discretion.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, management and the general public, including those from culturally diverse backgrounds.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Commerce
  • Minimum years of Experience 2-4 (Accounts Payable – Construction Background)
