Job Description
- Takes active leadership in managing and upholding the Fire Life Safety (FLS) in the Hotel
- Oversee and manage the Fire Prevention Plan, Fire Emergency Plan and fire hazard elimination whilst ensuring the hotel FLS system complies with local fire safety code and regulations
- Facilitate FLS training and conduct drills to ensure the safety of people and property
- Maintain records of all training, fire drill tests and recommendations for improvements
- Keep updated Fire Hazard Assessment Records
- Monitor fire escape routes for any obstruction and report any violations
- Establish plan for response and communication in the event of fire emergency
- Coordinates required fire alarm and other functional tests and assists with practice drill evacuations.
- Maintains inventory of essential parts and equipment to ensure repairs and installation in a timely manner.
- Knows and understands all safety procedures of the hotel. Observes the work of contractors and brings safety concerns to their attention as needed.
- Reports all unsafe acts and conditions which remain uncorrected to the supervisor.
- Allows no work to be performed when conditions are considered unsafe
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
- BSc Degree in Engineering
- Excellent communication skills on all fronts (speaking, writing, and listening)
- Must possess good interpersonal skills
- Must be someone that is alert, observant and pays keen attention to details at all times
- Must show a high level of carefulness in carrying out tasks
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Must possess in-depth knowledge of relevant fire and life safety codes and regulations
- Should have undergone fire and life safety training
- A minimum of 2 years relevant work experience as a fire and life safety manager
- NEBOSH Certificate
