Job Description

Job purpose:

Improving and growing GT business, by fostering and developing relationships with customers, suppliers, and other partners. Improving profitability through careful strategic planning and positioning in the appropriate markets, and enhancing GT’s business, position and reputation.

Expanding GT clientele builds market position by locating, developing, defining, negotiating, and closing business relationships, and achieving GT yearly target.

Duties and responsibilities:

Business Development Planning:

  • Keep abreast of trends and changes in the business world.
  • Attend industry functions, such as association events and conferences, and provide feedback and information on market and creative trends.
  • Present to and consult with mid and senior level management on business trends with a view to developing new services, products, and distribution channels.
  • Identify opportunities for campaigns, services, and distribution channels that will lead to an increase in sales.
  • Using knowledge of the market and competitors, identify and develop the GT unique selling propositions and differentiators.
  • Think strategically - seeing the bigger picture and setting aims and objectives in order to develop and improve the business.
  • Understand the GT’s goal and purpose to continue to enhance the GT’s performance.

Sales:

  • Identify new business opportunities - including new markets, growth areas, trends, customers, products and services.
  • Understanding of the businesses products or services and be able to advise others about them.
  • Generate leads and cold call prospective customers.
  • Meet potential clients by growing, maintaining, and leveraging GT network.
  • Identify potential clients, and the decision makers within the client organization.
  • Understand the needs of customers and respond effectively with a plan of how to meet their needs.
  • Research and build relationships with new clients.
  • Set up meetings between client decision makers and company’s practice leaders/Principals.
  • Plan approaches and pitches.
  • Work with team to develop proposals that speaks to the client’s needs, concerns, and objectives.
  • Setting pricing for proposals.
  • Handle objections by clarifying, emphasizing agreements and working through differences to a positive conclusion.
  • Use a variety of styles to persuade or negotiate appropriately.
  • Present an image that mirrors that of the client

Client Retention:

  • Present new products and services and enhance existing relationships.
  • Work with technical staff and other internal colleagues to meet customer needs.
  • Arrange and participate in internal and external client debriefs.

Management:

  • Ensure staff are on board throughout the organization, and understand the need for change and what is required of them.
  • Train members of his/her team, arranging external training where appropriate.
  • Submit weekly progress reports and ensure data is accurate.
  • Ensure that data is accurately entered and managed within the company’s CRM or other sales management system.
  • Forecast sales targets and ensure they are met by the team.
  • Track and record activity on accounts and help to close deals to meet these targets.
  • Ensure all team members represent the GT in the best light.
  • Present business development training and mentoring to business developers and other internal staff.

Coordination with internal departments:

  • Discuss promotional strategy and activities with the marketing department.
  • Liaise with the finance team, operation and L&D departments as appropriate.

Job Requirements

Job Specifications:

  • BSc/BA.
  • 6 – 10 years of experience in the same position and preferably in a service industry.
  • Proactivity and drive to seek new business and meet or exceed targets.
  • Excellent telephone manner for making initial contact and for ongoing communication with customers and business associates.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills - needed for communicating with a wide range of people, both internally and externally.
  • Excellent negotiation skills.
  • Ability to build rapport.
  • Time management and planning skills
  • Professional manner and presentable appearance for meeting customers/clients.
  • Decision-making skills.
  • The ability to motivate him/her and set his/her own goals.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
