Job Description
A Planning & Cost Engineer to work with the Operations Manager to develop suitable construction methods and sequences for the projects from the tendering phase and running projects.
- Determine and develop the most suitable and economically variable construction and engineering methods for projects.
- Estimate the timescale for a project and to ensure that the outlined deadlines are met.
- Work closely with Operation Manager and other Project Managers to ensure a project runs on schedule and that material supplies are sufficient.
- Deciding on the most appropriate engineering techniques and sequences of activities for each project stage for multi-disciplines projects.
- Ensuring plans meet the client’s specifications.
- Making estimations for timescales and costs.
- Supervising the project at all stages and providing solutions to problems.
- Prepare the cost sheets to control the cash in – cash out from the tendering phase up to the handover of the project.
- Update the actual progress from the daily and weekly report.
- Present the status of the projects in monthly bases or upon request.
- Recommend solution and recovery plans to address schedule and cost impacts.
- Set-up Work Breakdown and project coding structures.
- Prepare monthly cost report which includes actual and forecasts costs for the project based on information supplied by the PMs and information received project engineers.
Job Requirements
- B. Sc. Construction Management or Mechanical Engineer
- Experience in multi disciplines projects.
- Expert in using Primavera & MS Project.
- Cost Control Experience in multi disciplines projects.
- Expert in using MS office package.
- Very good in presentations preparation.
- Aware of all cost control methods.
- Ready to travel to remote site occasionally.
- Fluent in English.
