Job Description
- Manage all day-to-day operations of the pastry kitchen
- Produce a wide variety of desserts including, but not limited to, cakes, cookies, macarons, Swiss rolls, etc.
- Ensure excellent quality and consistency in all products
- Decorate desserts using different types of fillings, icings, toppings etc.
- Supervise and coordinate all pastry and dessert preparation and presentation
- Monitor stock for baking ingredients and make orders within budget
- Maintain a clean and orderly working station and adhere to health and safety standards
- Operates and maintains all pastry equipment and report any problems or malfunctions
Job Requirements
- Able to use or work with alternative ingredients to produce specialized, healthy desserts such as low-fat cupcakes, vegan cakes, etc.
- Able to develop, design, or create new ideas and items for the pastry shop
- Good knowledge of different types of pastry, dessert, and decorating techniques
- Possess a positive attitude and professional disposition with good communication and interpersonal skills
- Creative and open to new ideas
- Minimum 3-year experience as a pastry chef in either a 5-star hotel kitchen or reputable pastry shop
- Certified pastry diploma + minimum 2-year work experience
