Job Description
- Follow up site engineer and technicians.
- Take ownership of Virtualization projects from design to documentation and delivery world class data centers
- Install and configure VMware ESX/I, Veem, and Veritas in small, medium, and enterprise type environments.
- Install and Configure different type of VDI is plus
- Understanding of complex VMware configurations utilizing clusters, resource groups, and DRS configurations.
- Install and configure other VMware solutions such as View, SRM, LabManager, etc.
- Evangelize virtualization within WWT, customers, as well in the industry.
- Maintain various accreditation, certification and compliance initiatives as may be required.
- Interfaces with vendors, customers, subcontractor, and Project management.
Job Requirements
- Knowledge of Data Center Critical Environment
- Ability to develop solutions and execute plans on complex projects.
- An ability and willingness to think outside of the box to find creative and innovative solutions to improve quality / reliability and continuously drive down operating costs.
- Understanding of both Physical and Virtual environments
- Ability to produce detailed documentation according to as build docs, Visio drawings, etc.
- Ability to install and configure Windows in a virtual environment
- General knowledge of centralized storage concepts and have ability to configure VMware for connectivity and use (i.e. iSCSI, NFS, and Fibre Channel).
- Experience with NetApp storage array’s a plus.
- General knowledge of networking concepts and have the ability to configure VMware for connectivity and use (i.e. VLAN, Trunk). Experience with Cisco 1000v a plus.
