We are looking for an experienced Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) to manage daily administrative operations. You will be a part of the top executive team reporting directly to the CEO and your work will be a critical factor in our overall performance.

Chief administrative officer is high-level executives who supervise the daily operations of a business and are ultimately responsible for the performance of the departments he manage. Found across all industries and in both the non-profit and publicly traded sectors, these management professionals are experts at making businesses function efficiently.

Responsibilities

  • Provide input in business and strategic planning
  • Set goals for departments and individual managers
  • Collaborate with colleagues to implement policies and develop improvements
  • Organize and coordinate inter- and interdepartmental operations
  • Oversee resource allocation and budgeting
  • Provide guidance to subordinate staff and evaluate performance
  • Resolve issues that may arise in a timely manner

  • Assist in other tasks (e.g. fundraising) as assigned

Job Duties

A chief administrative officer (CAO) is a top-tier executive who most often reports to the chief executive officer (CEO). The CAO manages the day-to-day operations of a business and is sometimes referred to as the chief operating officer. The scope of this position depends largely on the size of the business and the industry in which it operates. However, a CAO usually manages numerous branches of the business, including finance, sales, human resources and marketing, Information Technology .

The CAO is ultimately responsible for the performance of each department and must report back to the CEO and board of directors of the company. the CAO could be managing hundreds of individuals. A week in the life of a CAO might include such tasks as:

  • Providing instructional leadership to department managers
  • Developing and implementing the company's strategic plan
  • Reviewing administrative policy
  • Developing and implementing budgets
  • Supervising marketing efforts
  • Preparing financial reports
  • Motivating sales staff

Position Description
A chief administrative officer hires top-level employees, oversees budgetary issues, analyzes company sales and performance reports, devises new ways to improve company profits, and researches the consumer base and competitive markets.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities of a Chief Administrative Officer

  • Recruits, hires, and trains upper level company executives.
  • Conducts performance reviews of top-level employees.
  • Delegates duties to employees.
  • Terminates employees as necessary.
  • Creates and oversees company budgets.
  • Analyzes sales reports.
  • Addresses and resolves any issues or problems with company performance.
  • Works with legal department to resolve any lawsuits.
  • Studies target market and current market trends.
  • Researches competitive companies.
  • Networks with existing and potential clients.
  • Builds and nurtures relationships with clients and potential business partners.
  • Researches and oversees company mergers.
  • Designs and plans marketing and promotional strategies.
  • Oversees execution of advertising campaigns and other promotional events.
  • Creates new ways to increase company profitability.
  • Studies, implements, and orders new products and services to be offered by the company.
  • Travels to conferences and expositions.

Work Environment

  • Time will be spent in an office setting.
  • Local, national, and international travel will be required.
  • Work hours will vary depending on client schedules, project deadlines, and the needs of the company.
  • Typical workweeks exceed the standard 40 hours.
  • Environment may be fast paced and stressful.

Job Requirements

  • Proven experience as an CAO
  • Experience in operations management
  • Solid understanding of business functions (HR, finance,IT etc.)
  • Knowledge of fiscal planning, budgeting and reporting
  • Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations (e.g. SEC)
  • Proficient in MS Office and databases
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability in decision-making and problem-solving
  • Excellent organizational and leaderships skills
  • Possesses detailed knowledge of a company’s mission and goals.
  • Demonstrates specific knowledge of company products and services.
  • Is capable of conducting independent market research.

  • Is familiar with the state and federal regulations for proper management of company finances and employee compensation.
  • Possesses physical and mental stamina necessary to work long hours in stressful situations.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, or related field is required.
  • MBA is strongly preferred.
  • Extensive work experience in the company(retail and Manufacturing- Tough Industries ) field is required.
