Job Description
Review architectural and design drawings and compare them with structural and MEP drawings.
Prepare and review architectural shop drawings in accordance with approved design drawings and technical specifications.
Coordinate between different engineering disciplines and resolve technical clashes before site execution.
Review drawings and technical specifications, identify discrepancies and missing information, and prepare Requests for Information (RFIs) for submission to the consultant.
Prepare and review quantity take-offs for architectural works, including masonry, plastering, waterproofing, flooring, wall finishes, suspended ceilings, painting, façades, doors, and windows.
Review subcontractors’ payment applications and verify quantities actually executed on site.
Coordinate with site engineers, quality control engineers, and the consultant to resolve technical issues arising during execution.
Prepare and review as-built drawings and update them according to actual site modifications.
Prepare periodic technical reports covering the status of shop drawings, material approvals, quantity take-offs, and technical issues on site.
Job Requirements
Job Requirements – Site Technical Office Architect
Educational Qualification: Bachelor's degree in Architecture from an accredited university.
Work Experience: Previous experience in architectural technical office works on construction sites, preferably in residential, administrative, hospitality, or commercial projects.
Shop Drawings: Proven experience in preparing, reviewing, and coordinating architectural shop drawings in accordance with approved design drawings and project specifications.
Quantity Surveying: Ability to prepare and review quantity take-offs, BOQs, and subcontractors' payment applications.
Engineering Coordination: Ability to coordinate architectural drawings with structural and MEP drawings, identify design clashes, and propose technical solutions.
Technical Specifications: Good knowledge of construction materials, technical specifications, and architectural finishing methods and standards.
Software Skills: Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office. Knowledge of Revit is an advantage.
Technical Submittals: Experience in preparing and following up on material submittals, material samples, shop drawing approvals, and Requests for Information (RFIs).
Site Coordination: Ability to coordinate with site engineers, consultants, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure proper execution and timely inspection of architectural works.
Personal Skills: Strong communication, teamwork, organizational, time-management, and problem-solving skills.
Work Commitment: Ability to work under pressure, meet project deadlines, and comply with quality standards and site safety requirements.
Language Skills: Good command of Arabic and a suitable level of English to understand technical specifications, prepare reports, and handle technical correspondence.
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous experience in high-end finishing, hospitality, hotel, and administrative building projects.
Good understanding of construction methods, finishing details, and quality control procedures.
Ability to work independently and follow up on technical issues at the construction site.
