Job Description

  • Examine existing databases
  • Developing existing databases according to the proposed work plan
  • Reporting that the Geographic Information Systems and various server-based databases are effectively meeting the needs of internal and external users.
  • Updating the geographic data warehouse and spatial infrastructure.
  • Installing, operating, designing, developing, supporting and documenting geographic databases on existing servers, following them up on a daily basis, and ensuring their continuity in the best way.
  • - Unifying the databases (Unified Data Model) received from third parties or the data produced internally, by creating a unified data model that accommodates all needs and based on the standard standards followed.

  • - Configuring SDI by collecting unified spatial data to support its use in different applications. And more generally
  • Developing the spatial infrastructure in accordance with the standards of geographic information systems, organizing the processes of developing and updating geographical and descriptive data, and maintaining its security and integrity.
  • Installing, creating and loading of Oracle and SQL Server databases
  • Managing and maintaining ESRI spatially enabled databases in Schneider Electric’s development, test and QA environments, as well as at remote customer locations.
  • Database performance evaluation and tuning, backup procedures, and general database assistance to internal and external clients.
  • Implementation of procedures for ensuring security and integrity of company databases
  • Implement data models and database designs, data access and table maintenance scripts

Resolve database performance issues, database capacity issues, replication and other distributed data issues.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in computer science (or other technical field with computer emphasis
  • Experience with ArcSDE and knowledge of SDE versioning 
  • Oracle and/or SQL Server.
  • Knowledge of PostgresSQL and Cloud databases 

have hands on experience managing QA/QC of geospatial databases and data sets
