Job Description
- Operation and Maintenance of a two-stage Ammonia Refrigeration Plant.
- Forklifts, Reach trucks, and Transpallet Maintenance.
- Generator Operation and Maintenance.
- Firefighting and Alarm operation and maintenance.
- Evaluating energy consumption and making recommendations for improvements to energy efficiency
- Monitoring equipment performance, identifying potential problems with operation or maintenance, and making repairs as needed.
- Working with contractors to install new equipment or repair existing systems.
- Give detailed technical reports on work carried out, or further work necessary to restore the plant to optimum operating efficiency; correctly complete work reports/timesheets to enable invoices to be submitted with minimum delay; maintain regular contact with the service center.
- Carry out on-site electrical and mechanical diagnostic checks.
- Ensure that the Company’s technical and safety standards are maintained in accordance with Health & Safety Practices as outlined in the Company Health and Safety procedures and make recommendations for improvements as necessary.
- To adhere to the company policy of quality service standards
- To perform other related duties as assigned or requested.
Job Requirements
- Minimum three years of experience as an Ammonia O&M Engineer.
- Practical experience with all aspects of refrigeration and air conditioning, both mechanical and electrical.
- Health and safety in the workplace awareness, including safe handling of refrigerants.
- Ammonia experience is a MUST.
Required Skills:
- Technical skills: Read and interpret technical documents, including blueprints, schematics and diagrams. Troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical systems.
- Effective communication skills with a variety of people, including other engineers, clients, suppliers and contractors.
- Problem-solving skills to identify issues, research solutions and implement the most efficient and cost-effective solutions.
- Analytical skills to review and evaluate data, research, and develop solutions to problems. Troubleshoot and identify potential issues with equipment and systems. Analytical skills are also important for evaluating and comparing different options and solutions.
- Leadership skills to motivate your team and ensure that you and your team members work together smoothly.
