Job Description
- Oversee and manage all aspects of the company’s transportation operations, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery of products to domestic and international clients.
- Develop and implement transportation policies, procedures, and best practices to optimize efficiency and maintain compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
- Coordinate with production, warehouse, and sales teams to align transportation schedules with business needs and customer requirements.
- Negotiate contracts and manage relationships with third-party logistics providers, carriers, and freight forwarders.
- Monitor and analyze transportation costs, identifying opportunities for cost reduction and process improvement.
- Ensure the maintenance, safety, and regulatory compliance of the company’s fleet and transportation assets.
- Lead, train, and evaluate transportation staff, fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Resolve transportation-related issues, including delays, damages, and customer complaints, in a timely and professional manner.
- Utilize transportation management systems (TMS) and data analytics to track shipments, optimize routes, and generate performance reports.
- Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and emerging technologies to drive innovation within the transportation function.
Job Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in transportation management, logistics, or a related field.
- Proven track record of managing transportation operations in a manufacturing or distribution environment.
- Strong knowledge of transportation regulations, safety standards, and best practices.
- Experience with transportation management systems (TMS) and route optimization tools.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop staff.
- Strong negotiation and vendor management abilities.
- Exceptional problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, office-based environment.
