Job Description
The Senior Electrical Production Engineer is responsible for overseeing the production of low and medium voltage switchgear, ensuring efficient manufacturing processes, maintaining quality standards, and meeting production targets while adhering to safety protocols.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and supervise the production team involved in manufacturing low and medium voltage switchgear.
- Plan and implement production schedules to meet customer demands and project deadlines.
- Monitor production performance and address any delays or inefficiencies.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, including IEC and IEEE regulations for switchgear products.
- Maintain quality control processes to ensure all products meet technical specifications and customer requirements.
- Collaborate with the engineering team to resolve technical issues and improve product design.
- Manage inventory levels for raw materials and finished goods to optimize production flow.
- Oversee testing and inspection of switchgear assemblies to ensure functionality and safety.
- Ensure workplace safety by implementing and enforcing proper procedures and training for employees.
- Coordinate with procurement, sales, and logistics teams to ensure smooth operations.
- Develop strategies for continuous improvement in production efficiency and product quality.
- Supervise and train technicians, electricians, and workers in panel assembly and wiring.
- Ensure safe work practices in compliance with health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards.
- Foster teamwork and maintain discipline within the production unit.
- Provide daily/weekly production reports to management.
- Support in customer factory acceptance tests (FAT) and audits when required.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering.
- 5+ Years of Proven experience in manufacturing low and medium voltage switchgear.
- Strong understanding of electrical components, wiring diagrams, and switchgear assembly.
- Previous Experience with ABB products is a Plus
- Experience in implementing lean manufacturing or Six Sigma techniques is a plus.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to make quick and effective decisions.
- Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Office tools.
