Job Description
- The Learning Support Teacher supports and works with students who have minor learning disabilities / or who have trouble accessing the curriculum due to English language deficiencies or learning gaps.
- Identifying students in need, which may include classroom observations and cognitive, academic and achievement testing.
- Planning and monitoring Individualized Educational Plans / Student Development plan
- Providing accommodations for students (i.e: extra test time, laptop use)
- One-on-one and small group instruction to target specific needs, skills or academic areas.
- Report regularly to the learning support Coordinator detailing work undertaken.
- Provide weekly progress report for each student.
Job Requirements
- Excellent command of written & spoken English.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Previous experience in the same position is a must.
- Ability to effectively communicate with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Time management and organization skills.
- Literacy and Numeracy skills.
- ICT capability.
- Knowledge of strategies that promote good behavior and discipline.
