Job Description
- Collaborates with other departments and stakeholders to identify and maintain resources needed to establish and provide an effective supply chain
- Create the company’s supply chain strategy
- Monitor logistics to make sure they run smoothly
- Maintain supply chain inventory and records
- Assesses the need for material-handling equipment and staffing
- Makes recommendations to ensure efficient loading, unloading, movement, and storage of materials.
- Negotiates prices for raw material and delivery with suppliers, vendors, and/or shipping companies.
- Monitors the performance of suppliers, assessing their ability to meet quality and delivery requirements; identifies and qualifies new suppliers in collaboration with other.
- Train and guide employees -Find cost-effective solutions for supply chain processes
- Resolve issues that come up (e.g. delays in delivery, accidents)
- Collaborate with other departments to create coordinated plans for business growth
- Ensure supply chain processes meet legal requirements and standards
- Communicate and negotiate with suppliers and vendors to land more profitable deals
