Job Description

  • Monitor, analyze, and report on all cost expenditures across hotel and resort operations to ensure alignment with budgetary targets.
  • Prepare detailed cost reports, forecasts, and variance analyses for management review, highlighting areas of concern and recommending corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with department heads to establish and maintain cost control procedures, ensuring compliance with company policies and industry standards.
  • Conduct regular audits of inventory, procurement, and usage to identify inefficiencies, wastage, or potential cost-saving opportunities.
  • Support the budgeting and forecasting process by providing accurate cost data and insights to inform financial planning.
  • Review and validate supplier invoices, purchase orders, and contracts to ensure accuracy and adherence to negotiated terms.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of cost control systems and software to enhance reporting accuracy and operational efficiency.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual cost statements and participate in financial closing activities.
  • Work closely with the finance and accounting teams to reconcile cost accounts and resolve discrepancies.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and regulatory changes affecting cost control in the hospitality sector.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 3 to 5 years of proven experience in cost control, accounting, or financial analysis, preferably within the hospitality or tourism industry.
  • Strong understanding of cost accounting principles, budgeting, and financial reporting.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to interpret financial data and communicate findings to non-financial stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills to handle multiple priorities effectively.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems or cost control software is an advantage.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
