Job Description
General
- Provides campus-wide consultation, coordination, and professional support in the planning, development, and execution of construction and/or maintenance programs within the broad area of building (indoor / outdoor) design and construction specialties.
- Work collaboratively with team members and stakeholders to ensure accuracy of early design work.
- Meeting with different parties, creating drawings, designs, and layouts, and complying with industry regulations.
- Draft projects using both 2D and 3D sketching techniques.
- Participate in formulating the development needs of the university-wide campus facilities.
Design
- Manage, design, develop, create, construct, and maintain small-scale projects in a safe, timely and sustainable manner.
- Utilize necessary physical and digital tools to create initial drafts.
- Adjust designs and reproduce drawings as needed.
- Research and incorporate functional / aesthetic / sustainable elements into designs as needed.

- Layout and plan interior design arrangements using computer- assisted drafting (CAD) equipment and software.
- Resolve arising conflicts between various design components.
- Prepare as-built drawings, shop drawings and maintain updated version.
- Provide integrated, original, creative, and effective solutions to architectural and engineering problems and design modification needs within the Campus.
- Ensure design outcome comply with governmental rules, codes, and safety standards.
Site Supervision / Construction
- Oversees the development of construction and maintenance works implemented on campus.
- Provides execution expertise and coordinates activities with representatives of other consultants as required on a project basis.
- Coordinates between contractors / sub-contractors and follow up the progression of works and carry out any inspections required with any required party.
- Monitor progress and compile reports in project status.
Planning.
- Contributes to planning from design to construction aspects on a university-wide basis.
- Coordinates and works with the technical support staff as appropriate; may participate in recruitment, training, and evaluation of staff.
- Provides estimates on cost, time, machinery, construction, and other specifications.
- Prepare Quantity surveying lists of projects
- Contribute to strategic facilities planning from design to construction aspects on a university-wide basis.
Project Management
- Serves as project monitoring supervisor on in-house comprehensive design projects; sets project parameters, evaluates compliance with design and engineering standards, and participates in the approval of final plans and installations.
- Monitor progress and compile reports in project status.

- Prepare submittal of all materials needed in the projects
- Provide execution expertise and coordinates activities with representatives of other consultants as required on a project basis.

Job Requirements
Education, Professional Knowledge & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Architecture
- 5 - 7 years of experience, with extensive excution and site supervision experience as well as relevant exposure to the other miscellaneous duties and responsibilities specified.
- Previous experience in campus facilities would be a plus.
- Ability to read and interpret various types of blueprints.
- Advanced knowledge and understanding of building construction, interior design, landscape and execution within a broad area of specialty.
- Knowledge and understanding of all relevant local laws, regulations, codes and operating guidelines.
- Ability to adapt and modify design requirements accompanied by the supporting engineering solutions and execution expertise.
- Ability to develop and manage project budgets, and to track and project costs using computer project management and spreadsheet techniques.
- Track record of experience in national and international building codes of higher education institutions is a plus.
- Project management and supervision skills.
- Strong portfolio to prove aesthetic design skills
- Report writing skills
- License of professional engineer
