Commercial Manager
Job Summary
Burbon Offshore Triangle is seeking a strategic and results-driven Commercial Manager to lead all commercial functions of the organization. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing the company’s commercial strategy, securing new business opportunities, managing high-value contracts, and building long-term relationships with clients across the offshore oil & gas and marine sectors. This is a key leadership role reporting directly to the General Manager and interacting regularly with executive stakeholders.
Job Responsibilities
o Develop and execute short- and long-term commercial strategies aligned with company growth objectives.
o Identify and pursue new business opportunities across existing and emerging offshore markets.
o Monitor competitor activity, client needs, and market trends to inform strategic positioning.
o Lead the preparation and submission of bids and tenders, ensuring technical, financial, and legal compliance.
o Coordinate with internal departments to gather input for high-quality, client-focused proposals.
o Evaluate tender opportunities for commercial viability and risk exposure.
o Negotiate and finalize high-value contracts, framework agreements, and commercial terms.
o Oversee the life cycle of contracts including renewals, amendments, and dispute resolution.
o Ensure compliance with local laws, client requirements, and company policies.
o Build and maintain strong, strategic relationships with key clients, partners, and industry stakeholders.
o Represent Burbon Offshore Triangle in high-level meetings, negotiations, and forums.
o Ensure customer satisfaction and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
o Provide commercial performance reporting, forecasts, and strategic input to senior management.
o Work collaboratively with operations, finance, and legal teams to ensure alignment on contract execution and delivery.
o Lead and mentor members of the commercial team to drive efficiency and performance.
Job Requirements
Job Qualifications
o Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Engineering, Maritime Studies, or a related field is required.
o MBA or Master’s degree in a relevant discipline is preferred.
o 10+ years of progressive experience in commercial management within the offshore oil & gas or marine services industry.
o Proven track record in managing complex contracts, tenders, and business development in high-value projects.
o Experience working with international clients and navigating multi-jurisdictional commercial frameworks.
o Strong commercial and financial acumen with a strategic mindset.
o Advanced negotiation and influencing skills.
o Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal abilities.
o High proficiency in English (written and spoken); Arabic and/or French are a plus.
o Strong knowledge of contractual models (e.g., FIDIC, LOGIC) and legal/compliance matters in the offshore industry.
