Job Description
A 3D event designer creates the visual and spatial aspects of events using 3D design software. They translate client briefs into detailed 3D models, renderings, and animations, ensuring designs align with brand guidelines and event objectives. This role requires a strong understanding of spatial design, materials, and branding, as well as proficiency in 3D design software and potentially experience with event production and project management.
Key Responsibilities:
Conceptualization and Design:
Developing creative 3D concepts for events, exhibitions, and activations, including stage designs, exhibition stands, and event layouts.
3D Modeling and Rendering:
Creating detailed 3D models, renderings, and visualizations using software like 3D Max, SketchUp, or similar tools.
Spatial Planning:
Optimizing the use of space within event venues, considering factors like traffic flow, accessibility, and engagement.
Collaboration:
Working closely with event planners, project managers, and other designers to ensure designs are feasible and meet project requirements.
Technical Documentation:
Producing technical drawings and specifications for fabrication and production.
Staying Updated:
Keeping abreast of industry trends, materials, and technologies to enhance design innovation.
Brand Integration:
Ensuring that designs align with the client's brand identity and messaging.
Visual Storytelling:
Creating compelling visuals that effectively communicate the event's message and theme.
Project Management:
Planning and managing projects, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality designs.
Job Requirements
Job qualifications and skill sets
Below are the qualifications expected of a 3D designer:
- Minimum Bachelor’s degree in 3D graphic design, engineering, architecture, or related field
- Minimum three years of computer graphics experience in 3D animation/3D modeling, graphic design, digital modeling, or visualization
- Relevant portfolio of 3D modeling
- Excellent working knowledge of 3D design software, including AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, After Effects), Blender, Maya, Autodesk, 3D Max, or other CAD software
- Ability to conceptualize and compose realistic environments featuring texture, lighting, color
- Proficiency in 3D rendering
- Excellent time management and ability to prioritize
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
