Job Description
- Manage the procurement process for chemicals, reagents, and other related materials, ensuring compliance with university policies and regulatory requirements.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, negotiating contracts, prices, and delivery terms to achieve the best value.
- Evaluate suppliers and bids, analyzing proposals and performance to make informed purchasing decisions.
- Collaborate with research departments, faculty, and staff to understand and fulfill their chemical procurement needs.
- Stay updated on market trends, regulatory changes, and advancements in the biotechnology field to optimize procurement strategies.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of purchases, contracts, supplier performance, and inventory.
- Prepare and present reports on procurement activities, cost savings, and market analysis to senior management.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Biotechnology, Chemistry, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Purchasing Specialist, preferably within the biotechnology or academic sector.
- In-depth knowledge of chemical products, suppliers, and market conditions.
- Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, research-driven environment.
- Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
