You need to be able to make responsive, fast sites, set up hosting/SSL, and add analytics + conversion tracking. The interview will be in English (spoken and written fluency required). Minimum 5 years experience.
About Light Ring
- Light Ring is an AI & software solutions provider. We design and ship practical products that help teams work faster, make better decisions, and grow. Our work spans:
- AI solutions: chatbots and virtual assistants (incl. call‑center bots and language assistants), retrieval and automation workflows.
- Data & analytics: dashboards, reporting, and data pipelines to surface the right metrics.
- Process automation (RPA): remove repetitive work with reliable automations.
- Web & app development: progressive web apps and mobile apps, plus marketing sites.
- UI/UX design: research, wireframes, and clean interfaces that are simple to use.
- Sample projects: Knowledge Navigator, Light Wave (fan phone mosaic app), Laila Language AI Assistant, AI Call‑Centre Bot, Patients Automation, and more.
What you’ll do
- Design the UI & wireframes: Create sitemaps, wireframes, and clean UI in Figma.
- Build the website using either WordPress or Next.js
- WordPress: Modern theme (Gutenberg, ACF blocks, Elementor), minimal plugins, secure setup.
- Next.js: Component-based build (e.g., Tailwind), connect a headless CMS (Sanity/Contentful), deploy (Vercel).
- Performance & quality: Ship fast pages (Core Web Vitals), responsive on all screens, basic accessibility (WCAG).
- SEO & analytics: Semantic HTML, meta/OG tags, sitemap/robots, basic schema; set up GA4 + Google Tag Manager and conversion events.
- Hosting & launch: Set up domain, DNS, SSL, backups; QA, fix issues, go live.
- Collaboration: Coordinate with our team/clients, give status updates, take feedback, be open to training where needed.
Must-have skills
- 5+ years designing and building websites.
- Strong Figma skills (wireframes + high-fidelity UI).
- Ability to understand the user experience and what makes users convert on sites.
- Expert in either WordPress or Next.js (and comfortable with the other at a working level).
- CMS setup (blog/case studies), responsive CSS (Flex/Grid), basic accessibility, on-page SEO.
- Performance mindset (images, fonts, lazy-load, Lighthouse).
- Can set up hosting, SSL, DNS, and handle basic security.
- English fluency (spoken + written). Interview is in English.
Availability & Schedule
- Keep 3–4 hours overlap with our team when needed. Sometimes the overlap will be mainly with Toronto (ET). Willing to shift earlier/later occasionally to collaborate with our global team (not every day, only when needed).
- Work week: Friday is off. Expected availability Saturday–Thursday (six days), with reasonable flexibility for local holidays.
