Head Of Agriculture

Job Description 

• He is responsible for the directing, planting, and maintenance of the farm and supervises all crop production and farm staff.
• In addition to developing the agricultural production plan for XXX, he will work collaboratively to initiate and expand programs, improve operations, train and educate staff.
• Providing valuations on timber, trees and land.
• Providing advice to management on maintenance and care for trees.
• Agricultural Managers plan and coordinate the operation of farms, greenhouses, and other agricultural production sites. In larger work settings they may also hire and train farmers to care for the crops/ trees under their supervision.
• Planning, supervising, and sometimes participating in the planting, fertilization, and harvesting process.
• Hiring, training, and managing farmworkers, ensuring that they are properly prepared for their important positions.
• Selecting the proper equipment and supplies needed to properly support the farm.
• Ensuring compliance with government regulations and health and safety standards
• Ensuring that the farm is profitable and meets projected financial targets
• Organizing maintenance/repair of land’s property, equipment and machinery
• Visiting the different divisions to inspect crops and perform tests on soil and water.
• Ensuring seeds, fertilizers, pesticides, and other supplies are regularly restocked.
• Directs and coordinates worker activities, such as planting, irrigation, chemical application, harvesting, grading, payroll, and recordkeeping.
