Job Description
- Job Title: Production Shift Manager
- Location: Ain Sokhna, Suez
- Business Unit: Saint-Gobain Glass Egypt
- Schedule: Rotational Shifts
Job Responsibilities:
- To be responsible for the management of Health, Safety and Environment: (a. Permit to work., b. Safe systems of work (KPS / SMAT)., c. Risk assessments before start of job in coordination with Area manager., d. Investigation and reporting of incidents and accidents (TF4 / TF5 & EVE4 / EVE5)., e.Environmental compliance.)
- To effectively lead and manage the team
- Ensure Discipline and address Grievance that arise in the Team
- Performance management
- Effective communications and team-meetings
- Team attendance follow up
- To train and develop the team effectively to meet business commitments and requirements: (a.Tracking of Skill level of Team & develop Training Plan to acquire new skill., b.Allocation & follow up of MKT2 Training to all Team members., c.Coaching and mentoring)
- To be responsible for the technical performance of the float line: (a. Plan Actualization., b. Achievement of Target / Budget yield & Loss control to reach WCM Targets., c. Management of changes., d.Follow up of Equipment functioning with support of Shift Maintenance Team., e.Emergency Management., f.Follow up of Key Parameters Target given by Area Managers)
- To ensure the quality of the product: ( a.Quality Non-Conformance Control., b.Quality Lab Test Plan actualization., c.Meeting customer requirements.)
- To manage costs effectively: (a.Outsourced Manpower Control as per Plan., b.Consumables)
- To provide support and resource for local WCM activities whilst implementing global projects, local projects, Act as project/pillar sponsor, leader, member.
- Compliance to statutory/legal Occupational Health, Environment & Safety company policies and procedures.
- Compliance with the company QMS, Quality Control, Product compliance of Saint-Gobain.
Job Requirements
- Educated to degree level in materials science, metallurgy, process engineering, mechanical or electrical or similar.
- From 3-5 years of experience of managing a team (to cover all aspects of people management).
- Understanding of health and safety legislation so that it can be applied in the workplace.
- Basic understanding of employment law so that all team members are treated fairly and respectfully within the law.
- Understanding of the company permit to work system and its application and importance.
- Understanding of key people policies e.g. discipline and grievance, absence management, skills development.
- Environmental legislation awareness.
