Job Description

  • Lead and manage a team of Quantity Surveyors (QS) to ensure accurate and timely delivery of quantity surveying services for our projects.
  • Prepare detailed cost estimates, bills of quantities, and tender documents. 
  • Monitor project budgets, cost control, and cash flow management. 
  • Conduct value engineering assessments to optimize project costs. 
  • Provide contractual advice and administration services. 
  • Collaborate with project managers, architects, and engineers to ensure project success. 
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends, standards, and regulations, particularly Saudi building codes.

 

 

  • Review all quantity surveying submittals provided by contractors for all disciplines of B.O.Q.
  • Review the contract document and B.O.Q and give advice.
  • Attendance and participation at Start-up Meetings, Site Meetings, Progress Meetings and (as requested) other meetings.
  • Provide cost reports each month (or at other intervals as may be requested).
  • Advice on cost and contract matters generally including estimates of the cost of proposed variation orders.
  • Establish the value of variation orders, obtain the approval, and achieve agreement with the Contractor.
  • Check advance, interim and final payment applications received from the contractor, adjust as necessary and make recommendations for payment certification purposes.
  • Check the priced statements submitted by the contractor in respect of any work carried out on a day work basis including the accompanying substantiation and adjust as necessary.
  • Pre-measure and pricing the works (where applicable), and achieve agreement with the contractor.
  • Examine claims notices and submissions in relation to additional payments and advising on their validity.
  • Provide advice and assistance on claims notices and submissions in relation to extensions of time.
  • Advice in relation to any entitlement to liquidated damages under the Contract.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering (from a reputable university).
  • 8-15 years of experience.
  • Must have previous experience in a highly reputable Consultant Engineering Company. 
  • Excellent knowledge of International/Local codes and standards.
  • Extensive practical experience
  • Experience in Gulf area projects is preferable.
  • Talented, hard worker, enthusiast, and accountable.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and deliver high-quality work under tight deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
