Job Description
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Manages and develops the company’s Health, Safety, and Environmental functions, implementing
policies, procedures and systems to provide a safe and secure business operation.
Maintains up-to-date information and knowledge on new developments in the area of Safety, Health,
Environment and Loss Prevention. Seeks out best practices within the industry and internationally to
ensure continuous improvement within the company
Represents the company with local government organizations related to safety and health in order to
ensure a mutual understanding of the Company’s goals and requirements, and to work in a co-operative
partnership with local resources.
Inspects company’s facilities to detect existing or potential accident and health hazards, determines
corrective or preventative measures where indicated and follows up to ensure measures have been
implemented
Prepares studies and analysis of terminal accident causes and hazards to health for use by company
personnel
Leads the investigation of accidents and injuries and cooperates in the preparation of material and
evidence for the company in hearings, lawsuits and insurance investigations. Compiles and submits
accident reports required by regulatory authorities.
Environmental
Establishes the company’s environmental standard and implements a program of education to line
managers
Co-ordinates with local government that the standards are in line with local and national procedures
Safety
Establishes the company’s Safety standard and implements at all company levels,
Establishes the company’s safe operations environment for all employees,
Establishes accident prevention plan by implementing accident investigations and find the right corrective action,
Establishes and implements the right PPE for the company employees,
Coordinates with the Government in all safety issues,
Job Requirements
Requires a Bachelor bachelor's degree in occupational health and safety management.
NEBOSH certified is a must.
Requires at least 3 to 5 years of safety, fire and hazardous materials.
Work experience in related container handling industry is an advantage.
