Job Description
- Plan, organize, and supervise all cutting operations to meet production schedules and quality standards.
- Manage marker making, fabric layering, spreading, and cutting to optimize fabric utilization and minimize wastage.
- Ensure proper handling, numbering, and bundling of cut pieces for smooth flow to the sewing lines.
- Monitor staff performance, provide training, and ensure compliance with safety and quality protocols.
- Coordinate with Production, Planning, Quality, and Maintenance teams to avoid delays and bottlenecks.
- Maintain accurate records of fabric usage, cut orders, wastage, and inventory.
- Implement process improvements and adopt best practices to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
- Oversee and manage all cutting operations within the garment factory to ensure timely and accurate execution of production plans.
- Supervise and train cutting staff, ensuring adherence to safety standards and operational procedures.
- Collaborate with production planning, quality control, and design teams to optimize fabric utilization and minimize waste.
- Monitor workflow and allocate resources efficiently to meet daily and weekly production targets.
- Implement and maintain quality assurance protocols to ensure all cut pieces meet company standards.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to cutting machinery, fabric defects, or workflow bottlenecks.
- Maintain accurate records of fabric consumption, cutting output, and inventory levels.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations within the cutting department.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity, reduce costs, and improve product quality.
- Report regularly to senior management on cutting department performance, challenges, and opportunities.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree/diploma in Textile Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 5–7 years’ experience in garment cutting operations, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
- Strong knowledge of fabric properties, spreading, cutting machines, and marker efficiency.
- Proven ability to lead a team and maintain high productivity under pressure.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
