Job Description
Key Responsibilities
Ensure HSE and Security policies are in place and in use.
Develop the strategy and roadmap of HSE activities in line with local regulatory and environmental compliance.
Ensure to develop the enabling HSE culture to develop the HSE governance framework and right behaviors.
Ensure that employees, contractors and visitors are safe from all occupational health effects.
Take the proactive approach to assessing the work-related HSE risks and implement the controls to mitigate the adverse effects with the aim of Zero work related accident.
Develop the Performance monitoring structure to ensure continuous improvement.
Ensure that all measures are in place to respond to emergency situations and business continuity.
Ensure that waste management systems are in place to take care of the waste at source and dispose of in an environmentally friendly manner aiming for Zero waste management.
Work on efficiency in resource consumption in operations and activities to achieve environmental excellence.
Manage the Security of the sites to ensure safe and secure operations.
Qualification & Experience
Must have Engineering degree in chemical, industrial, mechanical or related field.
Must have minimum 6 to 8 years of working in the field of HSE
Preferably have the NEBOSH Diploma or IGC certification.
Key Competencies
HSE Regulatory Knowledge.
Strong understanding of local and international health, safety, and environmental regulations (e.g., SFDA, ISO 14001, ISO 45001).
Risk Assessment & Incident Investigation
Ability to identify hazards, assess risks, and conduct root cause analysis for incidents and near-misses.
Strategic Planning & Execution
Capable of setting safety goals, KPIs, and long-term HSE strategy in line with business and regulatory requirements.
Leadership & Team Development
Ability to lead safety culture change, engage cross-functional teams, and coach staff on safety behaviors.
Crisis & Emergency Management
Skilled in preparing emergency response plans, simulations, and business continuity strategies.
Analytical Thinking & Problem Solving
Strong decision-making skills using data and performance indicators to improve HSE outcomes.
Communication & Influence
Effective communicator at all levels; able to promote safety awareness and influence positive behavior.
Preferred Skills
Proficiency in HSE management systems and reporting tools (e.g., EHS software, incident tracking systems).
Strong command of auditing techniques and experience leading internal/external HSE audits.
Familiarity with security management principles for site protection and access control.
Hands-on experience with waste management practices and environmental sustainability initiatives.
Ability to deliver HSE training programs and develop competency-based learning plans.
Fluent in Arabic and English (written and verbal).
Certification in First Aid, Fire Safety, or Hazardous Material Handling is a plus.
