In this role you will be reporting to Engineering Manager I and will be responsible to for creating and modifying the standard designs of equipment, systems, or installations, including standard specifications for manufacturing, fabrication or construction for assignments classified as low to medium complexity by applying standard design conceptsYour responsibilitiesDesigning engineering solutions, including drawings and calculations according to specification, contributing to design reviews and design verification and modifying design as necessaryIdentifying variation requests to support contract claimsFollowing work plans and cost estimates for work in one’s area of responsibility and ensuring quality deliverables on time and at targeted costCompleting risk and opportunity assessments and the implementation of resulting actions in one’s area of responsibility, reporting any contract / quality / program / cost issues to management for resolutionAttending project meetings and presents specific aspects of design assignmentsCollaborating with the supply chain function, reviewing vendor documentation, preparing RFQs, providing design related evaluation of proposals for standard materials and equipmentAssisting in communication with customer pertaining to specific project design assignments or meetingsUsing standard processes and tools, assisting in developing new processes and tools for reuse of technical solutionsYour backgroundBachelor’s Degree in relevant field0-5 years of experience in a medium-high range company focus on design and production as mechanical engineer.Good Knowledge of production process, material selection Strong experience as user of Solidworks with advanced level including sheet metal, sheet metal design and manufacturing techniques, metal work and metal forming process, familiar with engineering materialAbility to work in team, precision, and analytical skillsFluency in both English & Arabic language is mandatoryBenefitsRetirement planMore about usABB's Distribution Solutions Division provides utility, industrial and commercial customers with safe, smart and sustainable technologies for the distribution of electricity.
