Job briefingA Presales Engineer works closely with the sales and business development team before a deal is closed. He will be the customer’s most trusted advisor because he has a deep understanding of the company’s value proposition and the customer’s pain points. He will support the sales team all throughout the sales process and function as the technical resource for the team and the technical point of contact for the prospect deals. While the sales representative is in charge of all commercial aspects of a potential transaction, a presales engineer will be in charge of all its technical aspects. Once a sales rep schedules a meeting or demo with a new lead, the presales engineer will join the initial meeting and describe the company’s solution to the customer in technical terms. A presales engineer is a client-facing engineer role. This role also requires a combination of technical proficiency, solution design skills, and effective communication to drive successful presales activities in the IT and networking domain.Activities, Responsibilities, and Accountabilities:Technical Expertise:o Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of IT & networking solutions.o Provide technical guidance to sales teams and clients on system functionalities.o Stay abreast of the latest IT trends, products, and services to offer cutting-edge solutions and remain competitive. Solution Design: o Collaborate with sales representatives to design tailored IT & networking solutions for clients.o Create detailed system architecture and integration plans.o Create the BOMs for the offered solution.o Create the Compliance Matrix for the offered solution to the client specifications. Product Presentations: o Conduct presentations to showcase the offered IT & networking systems features and capabilities.o Customize presentations to align with client requirements and industry standards. Proposal Development: o Assist in creating comprehensive technical proposals for IT & networking projects.o Work closely with the sales team and the procurement team to ensure accurate and competitive pricing.o Assist in translating the proposals and any relevant requirement documentation between English and Arabic, and vice versa.Client Engagement: o Assist in pre/post qualification the company with the clients. Support in processing the qualification requests and preparing the qualification submittals.o Engage with clients to understand their IT & networking needs.o Address technical queries and provide pre-sales support to potential customers.Technical Demonstrations: o Conduct demonstrations of IT & networking solutions, highlighting key features and benefits.o Assist clients in understanding the practical implementation of proposed solutions.Collaboration with Stakeholders: o Collaborate with internal teams, including supply chain, project management, and technical support, to address technical challenges and enhance the overall solution offering.o Ensure smooth communication and coordination between technical and non-technical teams. Industry Compliance: o Stay updated on industry regulations and compliance standards related to IT, networking, and data systems.o Stay updated on local regulations and compliance standards related to IT, networking, and data systems.o Ensure proposed solutions adhere to relevant safety and security guidelines. Training and Documentation: o Provide training sessions for clients on the operation and maintenance of IT & networking solutions.o Develop and maintain technical documentation for products and solutions.• Feedback and Integration:o Gather feedback from clients during the presales process to improve solution offerings.o Work closely with the business development team to communicate client needs and markettrends.Market Research: o Stay informed about industry trends, competitor offerings, and emerging technologies to ensure the relevance and competitiveness of proposed solutions.Requirements: A bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as computer science, information technology, or a related discipline.Five+ (5+) years in a technical role (system administration, network engineering … etc). Including a minimum of two (2) years with presale activities.Industry-recognized certifications such as Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP), Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), or other relevant certifications.Strong knowledge and expertise in various IT domains, including networking, systems architecture, cloud computing, cybersecurity, and software applications.Understanding the sales process and the ability to effectively communicate technical information to clients and to effectively collaborate with the sales team to achieve business goals.Flexibility to adapt to changing technological landscapes and evolving client needs.Ability to use well-developed interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to perform effectively in a team environment with a strong economic and quality focus to support the company’s objectives.Undertake any additional tasks or activities that may be required by management and are considered to be within the competency of the role or experience of the individual.Bilingual communication skills in English and Arabic are a plus.Experience with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), and Adobe Acrobat.
