is recruiting an outstanding Art & Design (Graphics) Teacher, commencing August 2024, to join their BSO, and KHDA rated 'Outstanding' international school.

Taaleem and DBS Emirates Hills

Taaleem, one of the largest education providers in the UAE, proudly celebrates Dubai British School Emirates Hills for our ‘Outstanding’ ratings, awarded by both the Dubai Schools Inspection Bureau (DSIB) and British Schools Overseas (BSO). We are a thriving British international school, located in The Springs area of Dubai’s Emirates Hills delivering high-quality National Curriculum for England education to over a thousand students aged 3 to 18.
Our mission of ‘Enjoy, Aspire, Achieve’ perfectly captures the ethos of our great school, where students thrive in a nurturing yet challenging environment - able to achieve the best possible educational outcomes and flourish as individuals during the experience. It is this warmth of spirit that sets DBSEH apart, where every student, every member of staff and every parent can find their place. Schools are often talked about as being ‘happy places’, but DBSEH is made up of happy people - happy to be respected, valued, and appreciated, given every opportunity to succeed in a way that is meaningful to them.

DBS Emirates Hills Curriculum

Our curriculum is modelled on the National Curriculum for England and adapted to our own international context, leading to a challenging set of GCSE, BTEC and GCE A Level courses from Year 10 to Year 13. We feel the opportunities that students enjoy outside the classroom are just as important as the main curriculum and we offer an extensive and varied Extra-Curricular Activities (ECA) programme.

Recruiting - Art & Design (Graphics) Teacher

At DBSEH, we are looking to appoint enthusiastic and committed Outstanding Teachers. Our teachers are always experienced in teaching the National Curriculum for England in the UK; with additional experience in an international setting considered an advantage.
Aside from experience, personality is very important, we look for inspirational teachers who leave a lasting impression on students for years to follow. If you're able to demonstrate outstanding standards of teaching and learning, with a passionate, enthusiastic, creative and dynamic attitude then we want to hear from you!

Due to KHDA regulations, we only employ individuals with approved teacher status as well as a degree in their teaching subject area.
· High Quality Degree in Subject area and PGCE, PGDE and/or QTS.
· Minimum 2 years’ experience teaching the National Curriculum for England in the UK.
· An individual with confidence and a proven track record of outstanding results as
a leading subjectteacher.
· GCSE and A' Level teaching experience – essential.
· Cleared Police and Safeguarding Background Checks.

What we offer

Taaleem provides a highly competitive remuneration and benefits package including an attractive tax-free salary, medical insurance, and an annual flight allowance. To support international teaching staff arrivals, excellent, high-quality purpose-built accommodation equipped with facilities and amenities are offered, alternatively supporting locally established teaching staff, an attractive housing rental allowance is offered. As part of the Taaleem Group, you will also qualify for great corporate discounts with many service providers in Dubai.
Beyond package benefits, Student and Staff Wellbeing is central to our ethos at DBS Emirates Hills. We know that to facilitate great teaching we need to satisfy the needs of our teachers, both personally and professionally. By joining the DBS Emirates Hills Community you can expect to be made to feel welcome and supported from the moment you join us.
After your successful appointment you can expect to hear regularly from our HR team who are available for group and 1:1 Q&As, as well as a staff buddy or mentor who will introduce themselves and be your first port of call for the questions you may have about school life or living overseas.
Once you have joined us in-country our INSET programme, tailored specifically for the needs of new staff, aims to help you settle into life in Dubai (if you are new to the UAE), and familiarise yourself with our school-specific policy and practices in a smaller group setting with our senior leaders. Returning staff then join us for an induction into the school year.
Our vibrant in-school social committee ensures that there are plenty of opportunities to build firm friendships across academic teams while exploring common interests, such as dog walking, attending shows, playing sports, or even meeting up for a Sunday lunch! These opportunities are shared monthly and are targeted at all staff, new and returning.
Our bespoke DBSEH standards offer a framework for professional support and challenge. Promoting staff agency, you are put in the driving seat of your professional learning and through coaching conversations with a leader you decide the pathway you want to take to professional excellence, whether this be through self-directed learning such as an action research project or through more formal accredited routes such as the NPQ suite of qualifications, subsidised by the school.

How to apply:

Candidates are to apply directly through the TES portal and upload an up-to-date CV to accommodate their application. As part of the application, please complete and upload our registration questionnaire found in supporting documents.
