Job Description

Accountant_ Credit Controller – GM Abu DhabiPurpose of the role: Based in Global Maritime’s Abu Dhabi office in Mussafah, the Accountant will report to the Finance Manager regarding employment and local management matters.Responsible for supporting the finance department, the accountant will play a vital role in Global Maritime’s support team.Duties And AccountabilitiesDaily reconciliation of debtor’s accountAssist with weekly cash forecast.Process and generate reminder letters and monthly statement of accountsMaintain close relations with all customers, to ensure smooth running of accounts and encourage timely recovery of payments.Month end reporting requirements relating to debtor’s balance Regularly communicate status of outstanding invoices with project managers Reduce the Accounts Receivable balance, improve cash flow, investigate and resolve queries relating to outstanding invoices.Resolve queries both internally and externally regarding receivables.Improve and implement debt collection processes when there are any overdue invoices or payments and initiate legal procedures if necessary.Manage accounting transactions.Assist with monthly and annual closings.Reconcile accounts payable and receivablePrepare VAT returnsAssist with auditing financial transactions and documents and Liaise with auditors to complete Financial StatementsAssist with the preparation of sales invoices to clientsHandle intercompany transactions and reconciliations.Assist with any support duties that may arise to support the TeamSpecific Skills, Knowledge and Experience required: Min 5 years work experience as an Accountant and experience in the Middle East is essential. In depth understanding of accounting regulations and procedures Experience in credit controlling in the Middle East is essentialEnglish speaker essentialExperience with general ledger functionsStrong analytical skills and an eye for detail Hands-on experience with accounting software (NetSuite is a plus)High level communication and influencing skills necessary to deal effectively with colleagues and clients.
