Qualifications & Experience:Master’s degree in STI field (with equivalency by the Kuwait Ministry of Higher Education)Certification in Project Management Professional (PMP) from the Project Management Institute (PMI) is preferredMinimum of 14 years of experience in the same or related field Minimum of 5 years of experience at Senior level Proficient in English and Arabic.Key Accountabilities:Contribute to the development and execution of the Research Capacity Building section in line with KFAS’s objectives. Collaborate with the respective stakeholders to develop annual workplans that are aligned with the established Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). Lead and execute programs/activities based on the approved workplan, budget, and KPIs, ensuring the efficient implementation of strategic initiatives.Oversee and manage activities within the Section. Monitor and record the performance through the continuous tracking of the program against the established KPIs to evaluate the effectiveness and measure the impact.Lead the planning, development, execution, and resource allocation for Research & Technology Deployment programs and initiatives, defining components, content, and activities that promote awareness and skills. Supervise the implementation of Research & Technology Deployment activities, ensuring the effective and timely execution of scheduled activities.Facilitate regular networking initiatives such as symposiums, workshops, seminars, lectures, and scientific missions to foster informal connections among researchers from various institutions in Kuwait.Establish partnerships with prestigious institutions like Kuwait University (KU), Kuwait Institute for Scientific Research (KISR), the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS), etc. to offer targeted training courses and workshops aimed at enhancing the proposal writing skills of emerging researchers.Administer fellowship grants designed to enable local scholars and scientists who have recently accepted conference abstracts or published papers to participate in regional or international conferences.Oversee assistantships, including postdoctoral fellowships, internships, interim research, bridging scholarships, scientific missions, and supplementary PhD grants.Lead efforts to map general research facilities, centers of excellence, and prominent research teams.Contribute to the identification of international research organizations, including research institutes, universities, and research funding agencies, with which KFAS can establish mutually advantageous collaborations and share valuable information.
