Organizational Setting



The Regional Office for the Near East and North Africa (RNE) leads FAO's support to countries in the region in transforming their agrifood systems to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). it identifies regional priorities for food security, agriculture and rural development and ensures the planning and implementation of FAO's strategic response in the region through a multidisciplinary approach. It implements approved programmes and projects, monitors programme implementation, and ensures that they contribute to addressing reglonal priorities, RNE also advises on the incorporation of regional priorities into the Organization's Strategic Framework and Programme of Work and Budget.
RNE supports regional policy dialogues, facilitates the emergence of regional partnerships, and support knowledge exchange, capacity development and resource mobilization for food security, agriculture and rural development in the region. It develops and maintains relations with region-wide institutions including the Regional Economic Integration Organizations (REIOs).
The post is located in the Regional Office for the Near East and North Africa (RNE) in Cairo, Egypt.

Reporting Lines



Graphic Designer will report to the Regional Communication Officer.

Tasks and responsibilities



Under the supervision of the Communication Officer of the Regional Office for the Near East and North Africa, in consultation with the Senior Graphic Designer at RNE, and in close collaboration with the Communication Team of the Communication Unit in Cairo, the incumbent will carry out the following duties:
In completing the task, the graphic designer shall perform the following:
• Create art directions for the publications in accordance with FAO Branding and logo guidelines.
• Respond to all edits and comments coming back from FAO publication workflow system.
• Liaise and apply the design edits requested by the RCO and in liaison with OCC communication policy and guidelines.
• Use the approved logo, font type, font size, high resolution photos, and colours adopted by FAO and FAO style.
• Deliver visually compelling and innovative graphics for print, digital, and web-based media. Work will include designing publications, annual. Reports, brochures, handbooks, flyers, electronic newsletter distribution, tables, charts, photographs, banners, bulletins, flyers, cards, posters,
certificates, folders, notebooks, roll-ups, stationary, displays);
• Design and manage customizable brand templates for core design assets, such as social media graphics, technical reports, newsletters,
infographics, event graphics, and static data graphics.
• Support graphic design needs for video and audio production projects; and provide postproduction to visuals and audiovisuals for digital
platforms and social media.
• Work collaboratively across the creative and digital team to drive standards of creativity and visual excellence.
• Enhance and edit images (restoration, noise reduction, tonal adjustment), while coordinating closely with the communication unit.
• Provide final open source and pdf format designs of the publication.
• Other related tasks as required by the Regional Communication Officer.

Minimum Requirements



• Bachelor University degree in field
• 2 years of relevant experience in Graphics Design
• Working knowledge of English and Arabic
