Key knowledge: Windows, Microsoft 365, basic understanding of WAN/LAN/WIFI and IP addresses.OverviewAs a System Administrator MENA, you will provide 1st, 2nd and 3rd level support to all users in Springer Nature businesses with a focus on the users in the MENA region. You will also contribute to the development, maintenance and management of Springer Nature’s operational IT systems across the global business.ResponsibilitiesProvide 1st and 2nd line support to end users in the Springer Nature businesses in the MENA (Middle-East & North-Africa) region Provide 2nd and 3rd line support globally Liaise with the outsourced IT provider staff to ensure the Businesses are properly supported and key users are kept up-to-date Ensure that the IT platforms and other system components in use within Springer Nature on a global scale are kept operational in conjunction with Springer Nature Global IT services identifying and solving bottlenecks and problems within the context of ITIL Manage systems in a proactive manner as part of the Springer Nature System Administration team and contribute to the further improvement of the IT support processes Develop guidelines on usage of the system programs and components and maintain documentation for reference and re-use Administrate camera recording system ensuring a record for 1 month and back up the old records according to importance, follow up the maintenance of the cameras when needed Procure mobiles, tapes, toners, printers, network equipment Support global tools/services like Okta, Zscaler, Microsoft 365 suite Provide local (Egypt) application support RequirementsTo be successful in this role, you will need:A bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field At least 2 years of experience in system administration, network administration, or IT support Strong knowledge of Windows as well as Microsoft 365 applications Good understanding of Active Directory, authentication and SSO processes. Good understanding of file/print services (both on-premises and in the cloud). Basic understanding of WAN/LAN/WIFI and IP addresses Familiarity with ITIL framework and best practices Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with users from different backgrounds and cultures Fluency in English and Arabic, both written and spoken Willingness to travel occasionally within the MENA region and globally Motivated and eager to learn PreferredKnowledge of backup procedures Knowledge of software delivery procedures / Intune Experience with cloud-based services and tools, such as Okta, Zscaler, AWS, Azure, etc. Knowledge of Linux OS, Mac OS Current knowledge of relevant ICT-developments Strong abilities in analysis and problem solving Proactive in planning, with strong organizational and decision-making skills. Proven skills in managing customer’s needs and expectations at all levels and able to work well with the businesses. Confident in own skills and judgment and willing to take initiative and be personally responsible. Demonstrated drive, resilience and determination along with tact and diplomacy. Ability to work on your own as well as part of a team when needed.
