Job Description
- Reviews requests from County departments for construction or remodeling; consults with requesting departments to determine design requirements, modifies plans, and discusses changes with departments; oversees master planning and site development for future utilization of County property.
- Performs architectural design of projects; prepares outline specifications for programmed projects; specifies materials, methods, and equipment for projects; makes cost estimates; consults with other architects on major projects.
- Prepares Requests for Proposals; independently, or as part of a review committee, evaluates proposals submitted and recommends a consultant for selection; negotiates contracts with consultants; and writes contracts and amendments.
- Coordinates with other County staff in the preparation and administration of design and construction contracts; administers design and construction contracts by reviewing designs, specifications, estimates, progress reports, invoices, and actual construction activities of firms under contract to ensure compliance with stipulated project scope, design criteria, and contractual terms; makes inspections during construction; interprets drawings, specifications, and contracts and resolves disagreements with contractors that cannot be resolved by staff; evaluates completed projects and verifies all contractual terms have been met; maintains related records and prepares reports.
- Prepares a variety of documents, including: professional service agreements, evaluation criteria for proposals, and Board letters.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor of Architecture from a reputable university.
- Worked in finshings.
- Ten years of increasingly responsible professional experience in architectural design and construction.
- Will work three days at the site at the North Coast and two days at the office in Mohandsin.
- Must be a male.
