Job Description
- Oversee the daily operations of the company’s fleet, ensuring optimal utilization and efficiency.
- Develop and implement fleet policies, procedures, and best practices to maximize productivity and safety.
- Monitor and manage fleet budgets, including fuel, maintenance, and repair costs.
- Coordinate with logistics, sales, and warehouse teams to ensure timely delivery of goods across all regions.
- Supervise, train, and evaluate fleet drivers and support staff, fostering a culture of safety and accountability.
- Ensure compliance with all local, regional, and national transportation regulations and safety standards.
- Analyze fleet performance data and generate reports to identify areas for improvement and cost savings.
- Schedule regular maintenance and inspections to minimize downtime and extend vehicle lifespan.
- Manage vehicle acquisition, registration, insurance, and disposal processes.
- Respond promptly to incidents, accidents, or emergencies involving fleet vehicles, ensuring proper documentation and resolution.
Job Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years and up to 7 years of experience in fleet management, logistics, or a related field.
- Proven track record of managing medium to large fleets within a distribution, retail, or manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of fleet management systems, GPS tracking, and route optimization tools.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities with keen attention to detail.
- Demonstrated leadership skills and experience managing diverse teams.
- Solid understanding of transportation regulations, safety standards, and compliance requirements.
- Ability to analyze data, prepare reports, and make data-driven decisions.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and fleet management software.
- Flexibility to respond to urgent situations and work outside regular business hours as needed.
