Job Description
- Establish health and safety policies, procedures and guidance, in keeping with best practice and make recommendations on their implementation and application.
- Liaises with the Health and Safety department to ensure staff policies, practices and procedures meet their requirements.
- Implement and monitor effective Risk Assessment management strategies and makes recommendations on the implementation of these strategies
- Implementing, developing and maintaining a safety management system as per OHSA ISO 45001, ISO14001.ISO 9001 Standard
- Ensure the compliance with legal environmental regulations.
- Provides advice and technical information where appropriate to senior managers and all line managers to enable staff to discharge its statutory, common and moral obligations, keeping staff and Managers abreast of changes in HS&E Legislation and Codes of Practice.
- Carries out or arrange workplace safety audits and ensure that any remedial recommendations are implemented.
- Maintains accident statistics, analyses trends and propose and takes remedial action where necessary.
- Investigates all accidents and near misses be investigated, prepares report of findings, including recommendations to prevent recurrence and implement approved course of action.
- provision of emergency procedures, first-aid facilities, safety signs, relevant protective clothing and equipment
- Promote HSE Culture and awareness from top management to shop floor level
- Identifying KPI’S which enable measuring and monitoring the HSE performance
- Employment a Behavioral safety program.
- Know and inform workers about their health and safety rights and responsibilities.
- Ensure that all the workers under his supervision are completely committed to HSE rules.
- Conduct a formal hazard assessment, environmental impact for the work site and each activity, after modification or change, after an accident or near-miss, and to be revised and approved by the HSE dept.
- Identify (with help from his workers) hazards and related controls.
- Communicate all hazards and related controls to his workers (and management).
- Complete all required inspections (equipment – tools) and report any defects found.
Job Requirements
- Mechanical Engineering Background or BSc. Chemistry / Biology
- Minimum 10 Years’ experience in Manufacturing Industries preferred Sheet Metals .
- ISO 9000/2015Lead Auditor.
- Total Quality Management and Quality Management Systems Diploma.
- Certified Nebosh is must .
- Familiar with OHSAS 45001& ISO 14001.
- Fluent English spoken and written
- V. Good command of using MS office programs (specially excel – access)
- Safety/ Occupational Safety & Health Professional background
- Familiar with environmental standards.
- Strong familiarity HSE management, practices and procedures
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
- Self-Motivated, Target Oriented
- High Organizing skills
