Job Description
What You'll Actually Be Doing:
We need someone who genuinely loves the editing process - the satisfying click of a perfect cut, finding that exact frame where everything flows, making hours of footage tell a story in minutes. You'll be working with content we've already shot (no filming required), transforming raw material into polished videos for YouTube and social media.
Your typical day might include:
- Cutting down longer videos into punchy social clips that actually get watched
- Adding graphics, music and effects that enhance rather than distract
- Creating multiple versions of content for different platforms
- Working with AI-generated video clips - cleaning them up, integrating them with real footage, making them not look like obvious AI
- Fixing those weird AI video glitches
- Working with our production team to understand what each project needs
- Keeping up with what's working in video right now (without chasing every trend)
Technical stuff:
- A computer that won't cry when exporting 4K footage
- Proper experience with Premiere, After Effects, Final Cut or similar (not just "I've opened it once")
- Experience with AI video tools or willingness to learn fast
- Understanding of how to blend AI-generated content with real footage so it doesn't stick out
- A portfolio showing you can tell a story through editing, not just stick clips together
- Understanding of how to edit differently for YouTube vs Instagram vs TikTok
We'd love to see work where you've:
- Turned boring corporate footage into something watchable
- Worked with AI-generated content
- Fixed problematic AI outputs - smoothing transitions, colour matching, removing artifacts
- Made social media content that actually got engagement
- Worked with genuine deadlines
- Fixed problem footage that seemed unsalvageable
The AI Bit:
This includes:
- Colour grading AI clips to match real footage
- Cutting around the weird bits AI always generates
- Sometimes using parts of AI clips as overlays or backgrounds
- Making transitions between AI and real footage invisible
- Prompting for AI clips
If you're the type who thinks AI is "cheating" or "not real video work" - this isn't for you. But if you see it as just another tool that creates interesting editing challenges, we'll get along fine.
Job Requirements
- Portfolio that shows you can edit - not just cut clips together, but actually understand pacing and story
- Premiere Pro or Final Cut proficiency - these are our main tools
- Experience with real deadlines
- Understanding of platform-specific editing - knowing why a TikTok edit is different from a YouTube edit
- Comfort with AI video tools - or at least willing to figure them out quickly
