Supply Chain Material Planner- Buyer

Job Purpose & Scope 

• Plans and purchases complex materials and subcontracting services for several commodities meeting the quality standards, availability requirements, and price constraints. Make sure to meet our customer service level target.
• Maintain the required inventory level and working capital.
• Lead or participate on the continues improvement projects.
• Develop/ negotiate SCM agreements (subcontracting & services)
• No direct reports
• Scope: S&S - Geographical scope: region/ country/ commodity/ BA 

Key Accountabilities 

• Evaluate material requirements based on shared or system generated MRP and requisition materials accordingly.
• Expedite and de-expedite materials to support and maintain a flexible production schedule while communicating with support departments to achieve customer satisfaction.
• Monitor inventory to achieve continuous improvement in inventory optimization. Maintain and utilize inventory models.
• Interface with Purchasing, Supply Chain Planning, and Vendors.
• Apply JCI principals to identify major loss areas, facilitate process improvement.
• Work closely with the production planners to get the material requirements and issue the planned orders.
• Ensure that the correct prices are updated and request any prices update from the supply management.
• Coordinated with suppliers for issuing purchase orders and monitored their supply progress.
• Monitored stock levels and maintained optimum business level; interfaced with production and consumption points to maintain min. stock levels.
• Issue forecast of the materials to the suppliers on periodic basis.
• Coordinate with the clearance team for shipment clearance.
• Coordinate with the warehousing team to manage the shipment receiving
• Obtains quotations and negotiates with suppliers on price, quality, and service on assigned purchased materials.
• Plans and prioritizes activities, suggests, and implements process improvements aimed at increasing customer service levels.
• Follows-up and expedites orders to obtain proper, on—time delivery.
• Assists with back orders and resolution of match and hold reports to resolve pricing and quantity discrepancies.
• Interviews supplier ‘s representatives and investigates new sources of supply for assigned purchased materials.
• Supports Company’s initiatives for selecting minority owned and small disadvantaged suppliers.
• Liaise with supplier for special equipment configurations as needed.
• Performs special projects as assigned.
• Responsible to deliver the required materials from supplier side to our WH as per the defined RASI.
• In addition to the above-mentioned tasks, other activities and responsibilities may be individually defined.
