Job Description
- Develop and implement strategies to optimize shipping and logistics operations, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery of goods.
- Manage all aspects of transportation logistics, including coordinating with carriers, negotiating rates, and ensuring efficient routing and scheduling.
- Oversee the preparation and processing of all shipping documentation, including bills of lading, customs forms, and export/import documentation, to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Monitor and analyze shipping costs, identify areas for cost reduction, and implement cost-saving initiatives without compromising quality or service.
- Maintain strong relationships with vendors, suppliers, and carriers to ensure smooth operations and resolve any issues or delays that may arise.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including warehouse and other teams, to optimize inventory management and streamline logistics processes.
- Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices in shipping and logistics, and implement necessary changes to enhance operational efficiency and compliance.
- Lead and develop a high-performing shipping and logistics team, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback to ensure a motivated and skilled workforce.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations of shipping and logistics processes, identify areas for improvement, and implement process enhancements to increase productivity and customer satisfaction.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and safety standards related to shipping, transportation, and logistics activities.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field.
- Proven experience (5+ years) in shipping, logistics, or supply chain management, with a focus on international shipping and global supply chain operations.
- Strong knowledge of shipping regulations, customs procedures, and documentation requirements.
- Excellent understanding of transportation logistics, including carrier management, routing, and scheduling.
- Proficiency in using transportation management systems (TMS) and other relevant software applications.
- Exceptional problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to analyze complex situations and develop effective solutions.
- Strong leadership abilities, with experience in managing and developing high-performing teams.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
- Results-oriented mindset with a focus on continuous improvement and achieving operational excellence.
