Job Description
- Oversee day-to-day accounting operations for the hotel department, including financial transactions, reconciliations, and reporting.
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, budgets, and forecasts specific to the hotel industry.
- Ensure compliance with accounting principles, regulations, and internal controls relevant to the hotel sector.
- Review and approve journal entries, general ledger reconciliations, and financial reports related to the hotel department.
- Provide guidance and support to junior accounting staff within the hotel department, assisting with complex accounting issues and problem-solving.
- Collaborate with other departments, such as Operations and Sales, to provide financial analysis and recommendations for improving financial performance within the hotel department.
- Assist in the preparation of tax returns and ensure compliance with tax regulations specific to the hotel industry.
- Conduct regular audits to identify risks and ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data within the hotel department.
- Stay updated on accounting standards, industry trends, and best practices specifically related to the hotel sector.
- Support the Finance Manager in financial planning, budgeting, and special projects within the hotel department.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting and Finance or a related field.
- 3 to 5 years of experience in accounting, with a focus on the hotel industry.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, regulations, and financial reporting standards specific to the hotel sector.
- Experience with hotel-specific accounting software is highly desirable.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other accounting software.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
- Strong leadership and team management abilities.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- CPA or relevant professional certification is a plus.
