Job Description
BASIC RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide procurement expertise by sourcing and managing procurement arrangements at a transactional level to effectively meet organizational and business objectives.
RESPONSIBILITIES & AUTHORITIES
- Assist in the procurement process from receiving the purchase requisitions to obtaining quotations to negotiating the best deal for pricing and quality of the products to issuing purchase orders.
- Conduct sourcing activities in accordance with established policies and procedures.
- Undertake, complete and assist in specific procurement projects and provide ongoing monitoring.
- Successful negotiation with new and existing suppliers resulting in economic savings and increased service levels.
- Maintain good relationship with suppliers.
- Review and analyze suppliers’ prices.
- Maintain an updated list of the approved suppliers.
- Assist staff with queries and problems with procurement systems and processes, and address / resolve any non-compliance issues.
- Monitor spending and build a culture of long-term saving on procurement costs.
- Identify, mitigate and escalate procurement risks to enable the organization to meet its obligations and maximize business opportunities.
- Maintain and update procurement records and generate reports on procurement and contract activity to meet organizational compliance requirements and provide access to procurement information.
- Must understand, comply with and enforce all ASP Environmental, Safety and Health policies and applicable government Regulations.
- Perform other related duties and department support, when required.
Job Requirements
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- Minimum Diploma Degree economics, finance, operations, engineering or a related area
- Minimum 3 years of experience in procurement.
- Familiar with the Saudi Arabian market and preferably with experience in the Saudi labor market.
- Experience in the industrial field is required, preferably in the plastics field.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITY
- Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.
- Solid knowledge and understanding of procurement processes, policies and systems.
- Good negotiation skills; communication, and analytical skills good knowledge of suppliers.
- Experience in collecting and analyzing data.
- SAP Proficiency.
- Professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong computer skills including the ability to prepare spreadsheets and use Microsoft Office. Products (Word, Excel, Power Point) to analyze data and trends.
- Ability to work with teams and lead decision-making processes in a team environment.
- Exposed to different cultures and working environments.
- Excellent English skills: speaking, reading and writing.
