JOB SUMMARY 

Assess software quality through manual and automated testing and supporting the testing team.

JOB PURPOSE

To check if testing is going hand in hand with the software development in all phases. Prepare the status report of testing activities. Updating project manager regularly about the progress of testing activities.

Roles & Responsibilities

● Participate in release planning activities (user story writing workshop, size estimation, dry run, release date)
● Meeting with a customer to understand the scope of projects as needed
● Participate in the collection and documentation of users' requirements.
● Support the testing team to execute their tasks.
● Be able to identify how his/her test team aligns within an organization and how his/her team would achieve the roadmap identified for the project and the organization.
● Identify the tools for test reporting, test management, and test automation, and educate the team on how to use those tools.
● Prepare testing work breakdown structure (WBS) for the user stories/ project.
● Prepare the effort estimation for the testing task.
● Define the project/release risks and issues related to the testing phase.
● Participate in preparing test cases and testing scenarios for the user's requirements (user stories/use cases) as needed.
● Review the iteration test cases.
● Participate in the execution of test cases and test scenarios (manual or automated), and analyze results as needed.
● Participate in the integration and regression test on the iteration.
● Prepare the validation plan.
● Participate in the validation tasks on the final product according to the validation plan.
● Participate in preparing test reports for a final product.
● Participate in recording the bug in the bug tracking system.
● Track all major, critical, and acceptance criteria bugs into closure.
● Participate in preparing the release note
● Analyze and prepare impact analysis for proposed change requests.
● Re-plan test plan and tasks for approved change requests as needed.
● Define the testing type and testing strategy based on the project nature and approve it from the Development Manager for the release/ project.
● Plan knowledge transfer sessions if required to the team members for the tools that they would use.
● Check if there might be any delays in achieving the schedule, hold discussions with testers to figure out the issues that they may be facing, and strive hard to resolve them.
