Job Description
Providing support to the organization to assess and improve its environmental, social, and economic sustainability practices through a deep understanding of sustainability frameworks, industry standards, and initiatives like BSCI, ZDHC, and the Higg Index.
- Guidance: Providing expertise, guidance, and recommendations to help the organization adopt more sustainable and responsible business practices.
- Sustainability Assessments: Conducting comprehensive assessments of current sustainability practices, including analyzing environmental impacts, social responsibility, resource consumption, waste management, and energy efficiency. This assessment may involve data collection, site visits, interviews, and analysis.
- Strategy Development: Assisting organizations in developing and implementing sustainability strategies, goals, and action plans aligned with their values and objectives.
- Compliance and Standards: Ensuring compliance with relevant environmental regulations, industry standards, and sustainability certifications. This may involve conducting audits, identifying gaps, and providing recommendations for achieving and maintaining compliance.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Guiding the team in collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to promote sustainability initiatives and foster a culture of sustainability within the organization. This includes engaging with employees, suppliers, customers, and community groups to communicate sustainability goals, gather feedback, and build partnerships.
- Data Analysis and Reporting: Collecting, analyzing, and interpreting sustainability data to measure progress, identify trends, and produce reports. This may involve using sustainability metrics, key performance indicators (KPIs), and sustainability reporting frameworks such as the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI).
- Training and Education: Providing training sessions, workshops, and educational materials to raise awareness and enhance sustainability literacy within the organization. This includes educating employees on sustainable practices, promoting behavior change, and facilitating knowledge sharing.
- Continuous Improvement: Monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of sustainability initiatives and recommending adjustments as needed. This includes staying informed about emerging sustainability trends, technologies, and best practices to drive continuous improvement.
- Stakeholder Reporting and Communication: Guide in the preparation of sustainability reports, communication materials, and stakeholder engagement activities.
Job Requirements
- A proven track record of working closely with various stakeholders, including suppliers, manufacturers, and internal teams, to develop and implement sustainability strategies, monitor compliance, and drive continuous improvement.
- Strong understanding of sustainability principles, regulations, and industry standards.
