Job DescriptionSupervising the planning and designing of all civil related engineering worksProviding direction and guidance on any relevant drawingsOverseeing all planning, designing and directing of civil engineering projects, analyses reports, drawings and other dataAssisting the Engineer in calculating cost and determine feasibility of projectsResolving and recording technical queries and items of extended scope of worksManaging and monitoring day to day activitiesOverseeing all activities relating to civil works before, during and after the execution of the projectsMonitoring and ensuring that all works are carried out in accordance with the contract drawings, specification, instructions and programmersMonitoring all planning, arrangement and control of material compliance testing/evaluation and ensuring relevant records are maintainedPlanning and conducting regular record inspection and test activities for materials and workmanshipApproving and assisting the Engineerin resolving all recorded technical queriesAssisting and providing guidance to the Engineer in risk assessmentsReviewing all drawings submitted by contractors/ consultantsCommunicating and coordinatingCommunicating and consulting with other healthcare disciplines and all engineering and risk and safety departmentsAttending interdisciplinary meetings to provide technical support and adviceParticipating in joint meetings with members of the Health Authority Engineering DirectorateParticipating in the development, communication and evaluation of standards, procedures and protocolsCommunicating and coordinating with local authorities for regulatory complianceOverseeing coordination with contractorsCo-ordinating construction work, attends meetings with the Engineerand provide guidance to resolve conflicts between design and user requirementsIdentifying matters related to faulty construction ensures that appropriate rectification is carried outChecking as built drawing produced by contractors for accuracy and keep records updatedOverseeing quality control and safety mattersSupporting the Corporate Facilities Maintenance Directorby ensuring that all civil engineering and related activities are carried out in accordance with SEHA safety and management standards, policies and procedures, statutory and contractual requirementsEnsuring that all works are carried out in accordance with the approved drawings, specification, instructions and programmersAssisting Corporate Facilities Maintenance Director civil section in the planning and preparation of permits to work and task risk assessmentsParticipating in the development, communication and evaluation of standards, procedures and protocolsPerforming Other Professionally Related Duties As RequiredContributing to team effortParticipating in cross-functional teams and committees as appropriateDeveloping and enhancing team procedure manual and processes and discussed with seniorsManaging his/her subordinates and ensuring team development and complaint resolution, setting KPI’s for direct reports and conducting performance appraisal and driving motivation levels of direct reportsAssuring Engineers and inspectors complete work on time and effectivelyOverseeing work assigned for enquiries and inspections
