Equity Trader

Position Overview:

• The Equity Trader will be responsible for executing trades based on market analysis and strategic direction from senior management. 
• The role involves real-time decision-making, managing open positions, and ensuring compliance with risk and trading protocols.

Key Responsibilities:

Trade Execution:

• Execute buy and sell orders for equities according to the company’s trading strategies.
• Monitor real-time market movements, trading volumes, and price changes to identify trading opportunities.
• Ensure best execution of trades by managing order routing and trading platforms effectively.
• React swiftly to market developments and adapt strategies to capture opportunities or mitigate risks.

Market Analysis:

• Continuously monitor equity markets, technical indicators, and news that could impact price movements.
• Analyze intraday price trends and patterns to identify short-term opportunities.
• ⁠Collaborate with technical analysts to refine entry and exit points based on technical analysis.

Risk Management:

• Adhere to pre-defined risk management strategies, including position sizing, stop-loss levels, and trade exposure limits.
• Regularly review open positions to ensure compliance with risk management guidelines.
• Monitor daily performance, identifying areas of improvement for future trades.

Reporting and Documentation:

• Maintain accurate trade logs and records of executed trades for compliance and reporting purposes.
• Prepare daily summaries of trade activities, including rationales for key trades, for internal review.
• Communicate trade decisions and market insights with the Head of Equity Trading and senior management.

Collaboration:

• Work closely with the Head of Equity Trading and technical analysts to ensure alignment with overall trading strategies.
• ⁠Participate in strategy sessions, sharing insights and feedback to optimize trading approaches.

Compliance:

• Ensure all trading activities comply with internal guidelines and external regulatory requirements.
• ⁠Stay informed on any regulatory changes affecting equity markets and adjust practices as needed.
